I am feeling better this morning. I guess a couple of nights sleep and tony not around every corner trying to prod me to talk which always makes me cry harder is helping. Plus we bit the bullet and went out to eat even though it destroyed our budget and now hes gonna have to work some overtime. Oh well. I decorated as much as i could last night. I opened the box of lights and almost every strain was burned out! I was so mad. I finally grabbed one if the nicer looking ones, plugged it in and grabbed an crummy looking one. I took a light bulb from the spare box and pluged it in in EVERY hole untill the damn thing turned on. Repeat for 3 strands. I have a small 6 foot tree ( though it dosent stand taller then me?? Whats up with that? WITH the angel its 6 foot lol) Its fiber-optics ( ugh tony again lol, i wanted a 7.5 fir... i got fiber-optics) After 3 strands, plus the fiber optics it looks good. Added silver garland ( tony again,) and some gold ribbon. And thats it. I have some paper pinwheel ornaments i made, but i still need to add ribbon, i need a small hole punch or something to put the ribbon on. We had ornaments, but 3 years of hard use between Brennan who is hard on most anything, and the animals we used to have.... they are pretty thrashed. So i just tossed them. My mom has all thease beautiful handmade ornaments, she dosent really like to use them, so im gonna see if i can have them. They are really amazing. Very old looking.
Im all for traditional Christmas. Tony wants everything clashing and harsh. Black ornaments with silver garland and lights. I like the colors and green and red. :P We have to compromise smewhere. Oh being stuck in an apartment means i cant decorate the outside of my house this year. So i hung my ice cycle lights on the inside of my windows hanging down in them :) So THERE, it looks pretty from the outside, you can see the ice cycles and the tree. Plus all our candles. I cant light the ones in the left window because of the tree, i just added more to the right window. Im a sucker for candles.

Apartments

I never wanted to live in an apartment complex. But it was inexpensive and fit our budget. Just bearly. But it did. Anyway last night, pretty late our manager comes ringing the bell. I get really pissed, dosent he realize i have kids in bed? Anyway when tony opens the door, he tells us that they think there is an electrical fire in one of the other places and the firemen are on the way they want everyone to evacuate.
So we get the kids up and get them into the truck. Jammies and big blankets in all. And we wait. When the firemen get here, they go into the apartment and search for anything that could cause that horrendous smell and a fire. After an hour they come out with this large plastic tub, you know the kind you store things in. Heaping full of laundry and begin to pull clothes out. And the smoke just starts billowing. The farther they get in, the more there is. Then they get to towels and as they pull them out, they burst into flames.
She had done 3 loads worth of towels in one dryer ( the managers wife saw her do it) Took them out still damp. Put them in the tub, then heaped more clothes on top. The idea is they combusted. The heat and dampness and all..
What a freaking scarry night.

It finally started snowing here. And stupid me, i wasnt careful enough when i walked outside. I actually fell. I havent fallen in years.
I bruised my tailbone. I have bloodey bruises on my forearms near my elbows. I have bruises on my lower back and bum. I hit my head when i fell, but i had a hair clip in it broke the clip and saved me a freaking headwound. as is there is a crack.
It really hurts badly now.
I broke my diet and pulled another soda to down some ibprofin... but im really hurting. Im shaking so bad, and its been a half hour. I dont even wanna pick up the baby for fear im gonna fall again.
Can you een imagine how hard it is to walk up 4 flights of stairs after you take a fall like that?
I had stepped off the curb to get to the dumpsters. I stepped, took one more step and fell backwords. There was no slippage. Just a fall. I hit on my back. Ugh. Im lightheaded and really bad feeling..
So im gonna go, before i pass out or something.

Advantage Term Life Online

When i had my first child my mother in law asked me a startling question. It was one I had not thought of it before. She asked me if i had a will and life insurance. Not particularly for myself, but to help care for my children should something happen to me. I never actually thought of what would happen to my kids if something happened to me. And its something every parent needs to think of.

Beyond every parent. Its something that every person needs to think of. What will happen when you move on. Will you leave debt? How will your surviving relatives pay for your funeral or cremation. It had never even crossed my mind that i should prepare in case something happened to me. That I should think about providing for my children if something happened to me. And its something I think is very important.

When i started researching insurance policies for my husband and myself, i turned to a website that i knew could provide many different rates for insurance quotes. I wanted to find a policy that covered my husband and I as well as our two children. So the first thing I looked at was a family plan that would cover us all. I didn't want term life insurance which expires after a set amount of time. My husband and I are in our twenties, I didn't think that would be appropriate. However whole life insurance covers every person for their whole life. While its more expensive then Term, the premiums do not increase over time. And if there was an emergency you could cash in on your policy and pull that money out. What makes advantage term life insurance online a nice site It compares rates of several different sites. For my family, its only $300 a year for this type of insurance.

However they don't just cover family life insurance policies. They have rates for smokers, mortgages, group rates for employers, universal insurance which incurs interest and joint insurance for your spouse and you. Because you can use advantage term life insurance online to compare rates, you can find the cheapest insurance policy for you and your family.

Having life insurance is almost necessary now a days. You never know what is going to happen to you or someone in your family. And you don't want to leave your spouse or your children without means to support themselves for a period of time, or with limited funds to take care of your remains. While thinking of life insurance is almost a morbid idea. Its actually a very smart one. I hope you look into it.

The monsters are on a rampage!
With daylight savings, im in a huge funk. At 7 30 im ready to pack up the kiddos and send them to bed. However its not time yet. As my minute happy 3 year old points out. The big hand isnt on the 12 and the little hand isnt on the 3. Arent children grand? Remind me to break every clock in this house untill they get it! Its my call. Grr.
Sometimes i forget im the mom here.
So my toddler is trashing the house at the moment, combining his dads old bowling trophy ( oh god can we says 80s parent?) and a figureine of tinker bell. Yeah thats my son allright.
My baby is singing himself to sleep across my knees while i bounce them (does this count as my exersize?)
And my husband is absorbed in Halo.
Gah what a family we make.
ANd i guess thats all i have to say.

So my hubby bought me a new printer. Called it an early Christmas present! But its something I need. Being a photographer means needing to have a good printer around to print off proofs, and no to mention i like being able to print pictures of the kiddos off right at home. Rather then sending them off to the company i usually use for customers. Believe me, i take a ton of pictures of my little ones, i don't want to miss a moment. Not to mention those to die for sunsets, or once in a lifetime photo op while out. I like to print them off at home and frame them. I fill the walls with my art. But god is ink ever expensive! I swear i spent more on ink then i did on my camera ( excluding lenses which are very expensive) I think i go through an ink cartridge in 2-3 weeks.

I'm so happy i found this site called CarrotInk! They have awesome ink that is pretty inexpensive. What is REALLY nice is that they have ink for all printer types. I use an HP, and they have HP ink cartridges that go to my printer. Its only 15 dollars for a black cartridge and 19 for a color. Thats a huge savings over what they are in my local store. And hey, im all about savings! Besides have you tried printing things off at one of those kiosks at say walmart? They get expensive pretty fast. Its much cheaper to buy your ink cartridges from Carrot Ink. Besides being cheaper online, can you imagine. It saves you a trip to the store, sometimes out of town to a store that sells the right ink. And it delivers right to your door. Or mail box, either way its a place you always check.

Not only that, but they sell DIY refill cartridges for cheap too! Including HP 56 black, which is what I use. If you didn't know, using refill cartridges can greatly reduce the amount of money that you have to spend on ink. It only takes a few minutes of your time. Once in a while you spill some ink, which can get messy. But all in all, its much cheaper then buying new cartridges. If your looking for yet another way to cut a corner, and who isn't, then maybe using ink refills is for you.

Another thing that is really nice about Carrot Ink is the help system they have. They have a pretty darn good one if you ask me. And you are, or you wouldn't bother reading my entry. They have an email service, phone service, help links and best of all 24 hour live chat! And a 100% no questions asked guarantee. If your not satisfied, then send it back. Its REALLY that simple. Ah then there is the fine print. They take all credit cards ( and who doesn't have at least one, at least in the form of a debit / credit card hehe) Its only charged when your order is shipped out. They take it online and by phone. So if your afraid of using your Credit card online ,there is your op! They also take check and money order by mail. They also do replacements and returns.

So we all know about Ebay. The highest bidder wins the prize. Which is great, i mean you can find just about everything you are looking for and spend just what you want to spend. But wouldn't it be great if there was a way to spend less? What about winning Free Prizes?

I found this neat site called Bid 4 prizes. Where the LOWEST bid wins. And i hear you saying now " wait. thats TOO easy. All you have to do is bid $0.01 and you win right?" Not quite. You see its the lowest unique bid that wins the prize. Which means, that if more the none person bids at $0.01, then the next unique lowest bid is $0.02. Make sense? If more then one person bids $0.02, then the next bid is $0.03, and so on. The lowest winning bid COULD be as low as a penny, or it could be higher, as high as a person is willing to bid.

Its actually really easy to do! You just bid at their website, click the prize and enter in your cell number and your bid in cents. You can even bid from your cell phone. They then text you back to say if you have the lowest bid. There is a catch, you don't know what the lowest bid is. So it could take some time to get it down right.

But there is an awesome catch! And i mean awesome. The dollar amounts are fake. Literally, all they do is determine WHO wins the prize. Thats right. They give you the gift. Even Cash Prizes! You don't even have to pay for shipping. You get the prize absolutely free. I don't know about you, but that sounds amazing.

Then like the cherry on the cake, there is more. There is a sweepstakes. Each bid you make, you get a token. The tokens can be used to play arcade games, which get you points. And each time you play, you are entered in a sweepstakes for money, from $100-$1000 and more. Plus the points that you do get, add up until you get a reward.

The rewards are fun too. From money, to the new Apple I-Phone, designer bags, watches, jewelry, and yes even more money.

Shopping in Paris

Ive dreamed of going to Paris for as long as i can remember. The city of lights. Long associated with romance and love. There is just something very appealing about a place that sounds like that. At least for this small town girl. Not to mention the shopping opportunities. Now that appeals to every girl out there. At least on some level.

I think the key to hitting Paris is a good game plan in advance. You want to know which hotels in France are good ones. You want to have enough money saved up to really splurge. Planning your vacation a year or so in advance gives you plenty of time to set up a route and save up money. I would suggest getting a map and highlighting your desired path, making sure that you hit important and interesting landmarks. Some places that i would choose would be Haute Couture, Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre. You should find a hotel in Paris that is centralized to the attractions you want to see. There are plenty of nice places for you to visit and shop. Places such as the Nouvelles Galleries. ( pictured below) Its a massive shopping and department center. Which has english translators, great for us American visitors.

One thing that is kinda important for you to know. The french don't use the same measurements that we do. Everything is converted to metric. If your planning on going there. Use the link to brush up on some of the typical food measurements in metric. You don't want to miss out on something.Wineries are something France offers many of. Places where you can go to test the wine. Most places offer a free sample of their work. and sell wine by the bottle. However they generally only ship within France. So if you plan on buying wine, be sure to include extra for any shipping issues that may come up going through customs.

One of the best place to stay is Nice. Nice hotels are some of the prettiest. With generally speaking good prices. Of course at the moment prices are cheaper, its considered the " off season" Come summer they may be more expensive. For that reason, I encourage everyone to consider taking their vacation in the fall or winter. The weather can still be pleasant but prices will be cheaper and there is often less people there as well. For a map of Nice. Click here.

I really want to go to Spain. I think it would be absolutely amazing to see some of the sights there. Not to mention the history, the culture. I wish so much to visit the Golden Triagne of Art, which is 3 huge art galleries. One of the largest and most diverse in the entire world. Not to mention the classic bullfighting. The La Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, is a stadium built in 1929 and is huge, accommodating 25,00 people.

Speaking of old, Madrid itself was actually built sometime between 853 and 886. Arab Emir Mohamed I ordered the construction of a fortress. Its now the capital of Spain built in the center of the Castillan plain. Its the home of the Spanish Royal family, government and the Spanish Parliament. I'm a sucker for old architecture, places that look like castles. Statues carved by hand. Not to mention the beautiful fountains that Madrid offers. From parks and bazaars, Madrid has something for everyone to see.

To give Tony an idea of what it would cost to go to Spain, ( and let him know how much we need to save) I checked out several travel sites. And my gosh but the airfare is insane there! But because i wanted to get the whole picture of what i might need, i checked out hotel accommodations. Amazingly enough it was terrifyingly expensive. It the price of hotels in Madrid was about the same as a hotel in my own small town. That surprised me. Although it took a few minutes for me to search out a converter for the price difference. All in all it wasn't too bad. Much less then what i expected for a out of the country vacation. Of course it does get expensive when you stay there for long, but hey, what is a over seas vacation good for, if not lots of money.

One thing i did see that was interesting was the Hotel news page. It has a bunch of neat little articles written up that give you a bunch of little interesting tidbits about different destinations. From articles about pets in hotels, to kid friendly destinations. Check it out for some neat travel tips and fun ideas. I know i saved about 30 different ideas. And for sure I've got about 10 new places i want to visit!!
While the husband said no to a Madrid vacation right now. I for see alot of begging in the future, and hopefully the trip of a lifetime!

Spock search engine

Spock is a search engine type website where you can search for all sorts of things including famous people, celebrities and even people with common interests. Not only is it a search engine in the typical sense, but it can be used to search for regular every day people.

For example, i ran a search on Jewelry designers. I enjoy making my own jewelry, especially strong nursing necklaces, but i also make bracelets and earrings. Anyway i figured seeing the site said i could connect to other users who have simlar interests, that i could find other people who enjoyed making and selling jewelry, see their ideas and things they make. Generally find more inspiration.

So after searching for Jewelry Designers i find a large list of people who are also interested, and I can click on a persons name. It shows a personal profile and tags that relate to this person. At the moment it only shows famous designers, but the site says that within a week you will be able to put your personal profile on there as well, making it so you can contact other people.

Clicking on different people, i have found references to sites such as to their myspace pages, schools, and wikipedia. By signing up, you put yourself into the Spock database. They ask for basic information, name, age email, that sort of thing. But by signing up you can get exposure for a product you might sell, or for your blog. Like Wikipedia, Spock is a search engine that relies on the submissions of its members, people like me and you.

I signed up with Spock, and i hope to see all my friends signed up with them too!

Clearence and Clothing sales

I adore shopping. What woman dosent? Anyway the best time to go shopping is when there is clearence. You can get a buch of items for a fraction of the cost! One time i was able to get a suede jacket for $7. It was origionally over $30.

There are several tips to saving money by buying clearance.

Clothing goes on clearence midway through a season. So summer clothes will go on sale in the middle of summer, and decrease in price untill they are all sold. There is a fine line between waiting for the price to drop even more, and letting it go too long and not getting the sizes you need. Stores such as Sears have fantastic summer markdown in september. THings that are 40-75 % off of the origional prices. Summer clearence is great to buy for next season. There are always things that will be in style no matter what year it is. Such as Capris, shorts, and basic tees and tanks. Childrens clothing can be a bit more difficult to buy on clearence because you never know if a child is going to have a growth spurt over the winter, grow up or out or what. My 3 year old has been wearing the same size clothes for well over a year, nearing a year and a half now. There are many times that you might get something in hopes that it will fit next year and for whatever reason it dosent. However you can always sell to consignment shops, garage sales and ebay, so you can at least gain part of your money back. Good examples of things to buy after season are winter jackets for adults and children. A good winter jacket ( for my Alaska weather) can go for upwords of $200. I found the same jacket marked down to $35 at the end of spring from a sporting goods center. I bought it two sizes too big for my son at that time. That winter it was a bit too big for him, but not so much he couldent use it. And guess what, it fits this year perfectly. Talk about a lucky buy!

Visit stores regularly. This way you can see a sale price as soon as it is out, or soon there after. You can keep an eyeon the price. How far is it makrked down and how much of the item is there. If there is alot, give it a few days, chances are it will be marked down again and you can still get the item. Only a couple? Buy it when your sure its still going to be there. Because i used tape to write on the size, i can toss the tape and remark the size to save for garage sales or ebay or consignment stores.

Ask if there is a prefered shoppers program. Places such as Sears have a childrens clothing club. Where if the clothes wear out before the child outgrows them, they will replace the artical with the same item or a like item in the same size. Great for rough and tumble children. Some clubs also have discount shoppers club where they give a discount when you spend so much, or cash back. Sometimes they offer members only coupons.

One thing i like to do, is when i buy things fo my children that are too large. I get a clear plastic storage bin and using duct tape and perminant marker, I write the sizes on the bins. I then store them in a closet. So i can see the sizes of the too large items clearly. Then when my sons move up a size, i grab the corrisponding bin and trade out the clothes. I put the too small clothes in the bin and wash the clothes that were too bih

On word of advice with Clearence items. If you buy it and need to take it back for whatever reason. Be aware that if they have marked it down even more sence your purchace. You will not get what you paid for it back, You will get its current price back. Same goes with regular clothes. If Yu buy something and you need to return it, if it has been marked down, then you will get the marked down price back. Not the origional purchising price.

Have you heard of Payless shoe stores BOGO? Of course you have, who HASNT seen those commercials. Well the BOGO principle can be a great deal maker. Buy one get one free, or a percntage off. I went to sears and ound a great outfit set buy one get one. I ended up geting 2 shirts, 2 jammies booties and a blanket for my 3 month old son for under $30. Keep an eye out for those great sales and use them to get more items that you need.

Another little money saving tip. Many clothing stores will give you some money back if the items go one sale after you buy it. There is a time limit though, usually a week, maybe two. And you must have your recept. Which you should be saving for retuns anyhow. Not all will do this, so call in first, the number should be at the bottom of the recept. If they will do a cash back, just bring the recept in and visit the customer service desk.

Well thats what i have for now. Ill be back when my brain starts working again. Its past midnight now.
Till then everyone. Think cheap!

Coupon sites

So everyone wants to save money dont they? The thing is, the easiest way to save money is to in fact use coupons. While clipping coupons from newspapers is tiresome there is anoher way.
The internet.
The internet is a huge beautiful thing that is wonderful with information and yes coupons!
Here are a couple of sites that you can visit to find coupons.
Coupons.com
wowprintablecoupons
coupon cabin

What types of coupons are there.
Well there are two kinds of coupons that you need to know about. The first is a store coupon. Have you ever been to a safeway? Well they print out little coupons at the check register that are related to what you bought. Stores like Safeway also send out a weekly pamplet to your mail box. It contains the weeks sales and coupons that you might need that week. Store coupons will ONLY work in that store. So a Safeway coupon will not work at say a Krogers.
The second type of coupon is a manufactors coupon. Thease are hidden everywhere and will work on said item in any store. A case of soda, for example, often has a cardboard set of manufactors coupons for soda on them. No matter where you bought the soda, the coupons will work in any store. They are far more versitle then store coupons, but often have more limits on them.

Some tips for using coupons.
They often have time or amount limits. Be sure to use the coupon in the alloted amount of time. IF they are expired, stores will not honour them. Somtimes experation dates are weeks to months away, so check to be sure they arent expired. If they specif an amount you must honour that, or you will not get the discount on all items. If the coupon says limit 2, you may only get 2 items, however if there is no limit on amount, the discount will apply to all of the items you get. And dont go to a store far out of your way. It s far better to use a manufactors coupon which will work in nearly every store, then to drive more then 10 miles to a store you never go to for one item.

Coupons are one way you can save money while shopping.
